Sometime back I discovered to my horror that the 003's core driver has polarity issues. Other issues with the 003 are that you cannot aggregate it's core driver with other core audio devices and then there's the BIG Bug. Recently on a whim I decide to use my Eventide H8000 FW as the primary audio device in Logic and what a difference. And that's it's only bonus.Īs a audio device it's not that good. A very responsive controller for the price. When using the 003 with Pro Tools it's amazing. In fact the last month or so I've only used Logic so PT is getting little use. Lately I'm getting more and more into Logic.

Once you get your Duet, go to the Apogee website and download the most recent driver, and install it. The digi interfaces use the Digi drivers (and yes, it's normal for it to pop-up when you launch Logic although that's the worse way to write a driver - most other drivers are transparent, meaning you don't see anything pop up and you never know there's a driver working for you in the background). So Logic being a software, it doesn't have any drivers.

Since I will be using the Apogee Duet (I have not installed that yet), should I expect to use another driver? Will something different be installed with the Duet?Ī driver is a little piece of software that hardware manufacturer write for a computer to be able to use that piece of hardware. Is it normal for that Digi Core driver to open when I use Logic/Digi 003? Or should Logic have its own driver? The Digi Core driver pops open when I launch Logic.

I have pro-Tools 8 installed on my system (I do not even plan on using PT). I have a question about the Digi Core Driver. David, thanks for all the help and comments.
